You’ll hear the lyrical Welsh language spoken in Bethesda – more than 70% of the inhabitants classify it as their first language. And the slate roofs and architecture are typically Welsh.
Bethesda has a fine musical tradition, and has produced world-renowned poets, writers and singers. You may have a chance to catch live music in the local pubs, perhaps even join in!
The Bunkhouse (in its previous existence) was even a temporary home to Charles Dickens, when he was a young newspaper reporter covering the tragic Royal Charter shipwreck.
